Hello boys and girls from chess-playing Netherlands and surrounding countries,<\/strong><\/p>\n

On May 3de, 2026 we will organize the Open NK Rapid for youth at the Carolus Borromeus College in Helmond.
\nThe tournament is divided into age categories and the Dutch champions are determined per year of birth.<\/p>\n

The time control<\/strong>
\nThe playing pace is 15 minutes per person per game with 5 second increments.<\/p>\n

Attendees<\/strong>
\nThe tournament is held for 15 age categories, namely: the age category for those born in 2021 or later and an age category for each of the preceding birth years (7-, 8-, 9-, 10-, 11-, 12-, 13-, 14-, 15-, 16 -, 17, 18, 19, or 20 year old).<\/p>\n

Registration fee<\/strong>
\n15 euros (this registration fee is for tournament participation, including a packed lunch)
\nRegistration is open to anyone who has a KNSB\/FIDE membership number on the match day! ( KNSB membership can be registered on the registration page)<\/p>\n

Registration is possible until Saturday, May 2rd, 4:00 PM<\/p>\n

Prices<\/strong>
\nCup prizes (first three in each groep)<\/p>\n

Rating:<\/strong> The results will be forwarded to FIDE and KNSB for Rapid rating processing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Catering<\/strong>
\nIt is possible to get sandwiches and drinks throughout the day (for a small fee) in the atrium (the auditorium) of the Carolus Borromeus College.<\/p>\n

House rules<\/strong>
\nBecause we play in a gymnasium, everyone (players and supervisors) is asked to enter the playing hall only with flat soles (no stiletto heels). There are no restrictions in the auditorium.<\/p>\n

Internet report<\/strong>
\nThanks to the support of DGT, about 50 boards will be streamed live on the tournament site.<\/p>\n

Book stand<\/strong>
\nDuring the tournament, chess shop De Beste Move will be present with everything related to chess (books, boards, clocks, etc.).<\/p>\n

Open NK Rapid 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Saturday, May 2rd, the NK Rapid General (adult tournament) will be played at the same location, in which you can of course also play as a youth. You must register separately for that tournament.<\/p>\n
